It’s that time of year again, when everyone trades in their city attire for their western boots! The EKKA 2017, Queensland’s largest annual event, brings the country and city together. This year will mark the show’s 140th year, where more than 400,000 people are expected to turnout. With the EKKA in full swing, we’ve got your show day outfit sorted.

Akubra Hats

Given our harsh Australian climate, it is important to keep yourself sun safe! Our large range of Akubra hats is a great place to start with quality designs to suit everyone. For the gents, we recommend the Akubra Cattleman, Australia’s favourite Akubra. Designed in the tradition of the Australian Stockman, the hat is sure to keep you cool with the unique pinch crown, air vents and broad, dipping brim. For the ladies, the Akubra Rough Rider is a stand out, with a Pro Rodeo brim, centre-creased western crown, satin lining and fancy detailing.

Ariat Boots

Get your kicks with your very own pair of Ariat boots! Made in the USA, they are the true representation of the western riding boot. Beautifully crafted from the finest leather and designed with the best comfort features, these western boots promise to have you feeling as good as you look. For the perfect cowgirl boots, look no further than the Ariat Heritage Western boots. Featuring an eight-row stitch pattern, they are a classic look that will stay in fashion for years to come. For the best cowboy boots, the Ariat Roper boots are strong and durable, designed to keep you comfortable throughout your day.

The EKKA will run from the 11th to 20th of August and will feature many exciting exhibits for the kids and grown-ups too! The cattle and horse competitions are the most popular, drawing in large crowds from all over Queensland. The RACQ Animal Nursey is a much-loved family activity, allowing kids the chance to get up close to over 550 farmyard animals. Another crowd favourite is the sheep dog trials, where speed and skill is a must as handlers work sheep around the field. With carnival fun, family shopping, animal competitions, live entertainment and fantastic food and wine – it is the real Queensland experience that you won’t want to miss! So, get your western boots on and prepare for a fun day out!
